Academic background:Graduated from Tokiwa University College of Applied International Studies

The bonsai artist, Takahiro Mori, was born in Tokyo in 1979. After graduating from university, he began studying bonsai under the late Koji Tsukahara at Katsuta Koushouen in 2002. In 2006, he began working independently as a bonsai artist. His work as a bonsai artist garnered him an award at the historic Kokufu-ten Bonsai Exhibition.

From 2009 to 2013, he served as a bonsai expert at the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum. In 2013, he participated in the European Capital of Culture 2013 Kosice demonstrating bonsai. He gave a presentation at the 7th World Bonsai Convention in China in 2013 to invite the 8th World Bonsai Convention to be held in 2017 to Saitama, Japan. In 2014, he gave a demonstration at an international bonsai festival in Slovakia, and in 2016, he served as the bonsai expert for the display from the Japanese government at Expo 2016 Antalya held in Turkey.

Currently, he works at his atelier, Bonsai Mori, established in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, in 2013. He is actively engaged in a wide range of activities to popularize bonsai, such as holding workshops for beginners and leading bonsai communities in Japan, as well as overseas, and giving lectures in California, USA, for example. As a young bonsai artist, he often appears on television and radio, and in newspapers, magazines and other media.
